2021 What PMC/SMACCA Employers Need to Know about COVID 19 Vaccines and Flu Shots
As COVID-19 vaccines enter the marketplace, employers grapple with state and federal laws, specific CBA provisions and internal policies on what they can and cannot strongly encourage of both their office and unionized employees.
To help members navigate these circumstances, the PMSMCA is facilitating this presentation and Q&A that will provide employers with an overview of the key issues that must be considered when deciding to implement a strongly encouraged vaccination program.
This session will discuss a few common problems—and solutions—that unionized employers should consider. Among the topics considered will be:- Understanding the legal landscape - locally and regionally - relevant to the COVID-19 vaccine and seasonal flu shots.
- Evaluating and discussing employers options in this environment
- What are the additional impacts when employers/employees are governed by a CBA
- The balancing test that should be reviewed when considering a vaccine policy (or NOT considering a vaccine policy)
- A Q&A discussing actual issues related to these issues.
