SUMMARY:2021 What PMC/SMACCA Employers Need to Know about COVID 19 Vaccines and Flu Shots
DESCRIPTION:As COVID-19 vaccines enter the marketplace\, employers grapple with state and federal laws\, specific CBA provisions and internal policies on what they can and cannot strongly encourage of both their office and unionized employees.\n\n\n\nTo help members navigate these circumstances\, the PMSMCA is facilitating this presentation and Q&A that will provide employers with an overview of the key issues that must be considered when deciding to implement a strongly encouraged vaccination program.\n\n\n\nThis session will discuss a few common problems and solutions that unionized employers should consider. Among the topics considered will be:\n\n	Understanding the legal landscape - locally and regionally - relevant to the COVID-19 vaccine and seasonal flu shots. \n	Evaluating and discussing employers options in this environment \n	What are the additional impacts when employers/employees are governed by a CBA\n	The balancing test that should be reviewed when considering a vaccine policy (or NOT considering a vaccine policy)\n	A Q&A discussing actual issues related to these issues. \n\nThis Webinar will be presented by attorney Mark Tilkens\, office managing principal of the Madison\, Wisconsin\, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Mark's legal experience includes counseling and representing employers across the country in traditional labor law matters\, including the most difficult collective bargaining and "bet the company" cases\, situations\, arbitrations\, strikes\, replacing strikers\, union organizing campaigns\, elections\, acquisitions of unionized companies\, and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board. Mark defends employers in cases before the U.S. Department of Labor and in federal court actions involving labor relations\; investigating and defending the most complex employment discrimination. He also guides employers on all issues related to employee performance\, disciplinary and discharge decisions\, reductions in force\, and enforceability of post-employment restrictive covenants\, as well as advising employers in all aspects of the employer employee relationship\, including employment contracts\, disability issues\, internal investigations\, and policy formulation/review.
